Why do some people fix up the same cars you see in rap videos that look very silly?

For example: 22 or 24, 26 inch rims on cars like Dodge Magnum, Charger, Chrysler 300, Impalas, Monte Carlos, old school Chevys and so on. And they are all painted 3 or 4 non matching colors and lifted up for the big rims. I think they look like clown cars. Living in L.A. I see a lot of them. They think it makes them look expensive. I think it is funny to see old 90's chevys with "chrome" 22 inch wheels. They want to look cool the cheapest way possible.. but they actually are having the opposite effect...Why do some people fix up the same cars you see in rap videos that look very silly?
I suppose it's because some people think that is "cool" or "in style". Personally I like nice cars, but not all of the showy rims and stuff.Why do some people fix up the same cars you see in rap videos that look very silly?
It looks moronic. We've got 'em here in Alabama as well. We even have several around my town that are painted to look like candy wrappers. There is a Crown Vic that is painted to look like a Kit-Kat wrapper. There have been several M%26amp;M cars around, and there is a Suburban painted to look like a Sour Skittles bag.Why do some people fix up the same cars you see in rap videos that look very silly?
As a big time 4 wheeler. Anything that is simulated or aesthetic is because they are "compensating". 100 bucks, says they either live in the vehicle or live in a shack (LA projects comes to mind, I live 20 miles east of Los Angeles).



I laugh at them. Can you imagine with 26" rims, and low profile tires, the gear ratio for a monte carlo? LOL. Can you say 6 MPG.

People are people and their car or truck is an extension of themselves. They feel good with the big chrome mags and spinners, the low profile tires.... it is a reflection of them... and also hollywood plays a big part in this stuff.... take the movie the fast and furious.... all those little nissions, and crap racing , they think that is power....LOL I took my son in law for a ride in my 71 R/T Challenger... and he nearly wet himself....LOL we were doing 145 and I still had more to go!!! and he was saying slow down!!!! LOL He don't brag about his little toyota being so fast any more....... I still tease him and ask if he wants to line them up for titles because I need a good winter beater.... and he gets all steamed with his little car ...... LOL ... I am smiling from ear to ear now just thinking about it!!!!!!! :) because he got alot of money tied up into his wheels and whats with those big mufflers anyway!!!!
