Will Toyota be making a hybrid version of the 4Runner? If so, when?

I'm in the market for a hybrid SUV, and all the existing choices aren't very plausible for me. No Fords/Chevys (bad personal experiences w/ American makes). The Lexus is too expensive, and the '08 Highlander is ugggggly... I love my 4Runner, but it's getting old and I'm looking for a hybrid. Any ideas? No current Hybrid version of the 4Runner is in the works, but from what I've heard, by 2010 they should have a hybrid version of most of their models available. They haven't gone that route in the 4Runner or other trucks yet as their current generation of Hybrid technology is based off of car platforms, including the Lexus and Highlander models which are variations from the Camry platform. Keep an eye out for them in the next several years, but unfortunately, nothing in that vein yet.Will Toyota be making a hybrid version of the 4Runner? If so, when?

i own a repair shop,and there's been very little mention of it,but you know if everyone else is going to try it,Toyota will also,i seen a flier that was sent to my shop on this subject,and there not saying a whole lot about it,so you can bet there working on one right now,all the car makers are going to have to do this,people are tired of gas drinkers,they want luxury ,sportiness,and fuel economy,all rolled up in one bundle,so the car makers are going to have to listen,or loose on sales,good luck i hope this help,s.Will Toyota be making a hybrid version of the 4Runner? Move to Japan-maybe they sell Hybrid 4 runners there.
Not in the forseeable future. Toyota has to work the kinks out of a heavy-duty hybrid. But I must say, American makes aren't what they used to be. Look at the 2007 Tahoe. It's got better than average reliability, according to Consumer Reports, and a hybrid version is coming soon, to a dealer near you! Research it, and give it some thought. Ford Escape Hybrid has a proven track record of above average as well.
