Merger between GM & Chrysler? What does this mean for GM?

I have had Chevys my entire life and do not plan on getting anything but them. However, if they merge with Chrysler, will they discontinue Chevrolet? I really hope not. Does that mean GM engines will say "chrysler" on them? what will change?Merger between GM %26amp; Chrysler? What does this mean for GM?
No way that will happen. The GM name is too known. Chrysler is now owned by the Germans so I hope that does not happen either.Merger between GM %26amp; Chrysler? What does this mean for GM?
FIRST - Chrysler is not owned by the Germans. Daimler-Benz unloaded Chrysler onto a private USA owned holding company.

SECOND - Gm will continue on as before. Industry analysts speculate that GM will take on the best of Chrysler (JEEP and the minivans) and sell off the rest. Gm is not after Chrysler products so much as the monies that they can borrow against the Chrysler name using their pension plan as collateral. As for Chrysler employees, they will be screwed. GM won't care a wit about them. They will be out on the street.Merger between GM %26amp; Chrysler? What does this mean for GM?
What smart said. GM will cut a lot of Chrysler's products and employees. That is if the deal goes through, they're asking for ANOTHER 10 billion from our government AFTER 25 billion in aid last month. Merger between GM %26amp; Chrysler? What does this mean for GM?
The Chevrolet nameplate is not going anywhere. If anything, I can see them eliminating Pontiac. That鈥檚 one GM brand, I鈥檇 never buy.
