phil the manufactures do make the base for the engine block but ya thats about it even thought that does make a huge diference I.E. the toyotas being able to run cooler than other's making them faster last year with ford and chevy just catching up this year

You NASCAR loving wankers don't really believe those cars are real Fords and Chevys do you? They are hand built custom hundred thousand dollar cars. A logo or name plate does not a car make.
Does it really matter? The manufacturers don't make a single part on the cars. The teams receive money from the manufacturer, that is it. You should look at it as Roush vs Hendrick; or Gibbs vs Penske.
