HI I'm getting my 79 el camino soon and I saw that the gmc caberello is the Chevys version of the el camino and they look exactly the same! What's the differance between these 2 cars! I have no clue why gmc would make a car that looks exactly identical to the el camino I don't want to buy a gmc by accident thanks. What's the difference between the Chevy elcamino and the gmc caberello?
It's the same car. GM owns GMC, chevy, buick, olds, pont.
It was common for them to build sister cars. Like the chevy S10 and s10 blazer and the GMC S15 and S15 jimmy
Or the GMC pickup and the chevy pickup..
Same cars. Only diff is the grill, maybe headlights and a few changes on the interrior like gauges, or trimWhat's the difference between the Chevy elcamino and the gmc caberello?
GMC and Chevy are the same company. Ford %26amp; Mercury are the same company.Dodge %26amp; Chrysler are the same company. Each of the Big 3 auto makers created another company within the company to make more sales. Each car is almost a duplicate. They use the same frame, body parts, and interior. Sometimes they change the engines. The only difference is the style of the head lights, tail lights, chrome. What's the difference between the Chevy elcamino and the gmc caberello?
The other posts are correct - GM owns both GMC and Chevrolet - it marketed the el camino from Chevy and the slightly different trimmed Caballero from GMC - they are essentially the same car. Except for those trim bits, everything between the two cars can interchange. Actually, if it were my choice I'd probably go for the caballero, since it is a more rare car! What's the difference between the Chevy elcamino and the gmc caberello?
Actually the only difference would be interior/exterior
but all the mechanical and electrical would virtually be the same
