Different specs? Try again.
They both used the same motors, chassis, and shared most of their electronics. Interior appointments were different, but they were very close to being the same car. You need to do a little research.
Both the Iroc-Z and the Trans Am variants from Pontiac came with either a 305ci or 350ci small block. You could get either carbed or two different versions of fuel injection.
When it comes down to which is "better", it's a Coke vs Pepsi question. Little tweaks could be done to any of the models to make them slightly faster from the factory. Compared to today's versions, though, they're all turtles off the line. As with any car, you could mod the crap out of them to squeeze every inch of power out of the V8's they came with.
My favorite of all I owned was a '88 Formula Firebird. Since they were lighter than their GTA cousins, they were nominally faster. However, the GTA's out there (especially those that are very well-kept) are worth more to collectors. I was partial to the Pontiac offerings, as I felt they were a little more upscale... however, mechanically, they were the same as an Iroc-Z.Whats better chevys iroc-z or pontiacs 82-92 trans am?
There is not too much difference between them so performance and fuel mileage will be similar. Build quality is the same and they have many interchangeable parts just like other GM vehicles. This is not a choice of one being better than the other it is a personal decision. As you noted there are some minor differences in a few of the specifications but they do not make a big difference in performance.Whats better chevys iroc-z or pontiacs 82-92 trans am?
They are basically the same, I prefer the styling of the Camaro and would get a 5.7 with T-tops.Whats better chevys iroc-z or pontiacs 82-92 trans am?
