i was wondering if these were good trucks. im looking at buying a 2002 silverado regular cab it has 130,000 miles. 4wd. is there any common problems to expect with chevys? and also the guy selling it has spray painted the brake lights black (which is illegal) and painted black the front bumper chevy emblem. how much is it going to cost me to put stock ones back on and should i tell him to drop the price for that. hes asking $7500 for that truck but blue book says 6,000.
thanksPlease help if you know about chevys?
The mileage is a little higher than avg. The taillights can cost a lot if you buy new ones, but you could get fine used ones easy at a used parts yard for maybe $40 for both. I'm no expert on Chevy pickups but at $6000 you might have a good deal. Get it checked by a mechanic, the cost is well worth it maybe $100.Please help if you know about chevys?
chevy trucks are very reliable vehicles. i have 3 with 250,000 miles (95,96,03) all run good because i maintain them. 99-02 burn oil until pcv system is corrected (bad pcv valve) 99 up dash clusters go out meaning speedo at a stop says you are doing 65mph. rear ends go out @ about 150,000, daytime running lights are always going out. steering column rattles when you hit a bump in the road (it is repairable) a/c, %26amp; ac belt have issues. Please help if you know about chevys?
