Can I swap out the 350 small block in my 1982 corvette and install a big block 427 without changing the hood?

I realize ill have to upgrade the tranny and the cooling system. I heard somewhere that you can swap small blocks for big blocks in chevys and the engine will slide right in?Can I swap out the 350 small block in my 1982 corvette and install a big block 427 without changing the hood?
that's true,there is some upgrades to do though but only minor ones,ever who told you that knew their chevy,s pretty good,it will clear the hood barely, but it will clear it,i have a friend that,s restoring an 81 model and he went back with a 454 in it,good luck.Can I swap out the 350 small block in my 1982 corvette and install a big block 427 without changing the hood?

It might not fit if you have a high rise intake. Get the low intake and correct air cleaner, will work good.
