The important thing is if you buy a Ford or Chevy you are supporting America, not some other country.
Both Companies make good cars and bad cars- the best engine built in America was the Ford 300 inline six- used in Trucks, best other engine was GM 350 - both are good for 200,000 miles if maintained properly- both have had difficulty producing a reliabe 4 cyl engine- and making cars with bad engines have destroyed there reputaions, for otherwide pretty good cars-

Today the best American made car is probably Chevy Impala, and Buick LaSabre- the new Ford Fusion, has cought my eye- but no history on it yet- F-150 is the best selling Pick up, but without the 300 six, (4.6) not sure about how reliable it will be.

Very bad mistake by Fored to end production of that engine, its world renown as great engine- nothing like shooting yourself in the foot.
My parents have had 6 cars in there life since they were married. Four of those cars were Fords and not one of them didnt break down at least once over the coarse of a year. The other two cars have been chevy's and we still have them, they have never breaken down.

Chevy's pack more torgue than Fords, but personally, I will NEVER buy another American made car as long as i live. Foreign cars are so much more reliable and cost effective.

I like alot of different cars but i would definatley say the ford. My dad has a 99'ford escort and it still hasnt broken down and we havent had any trouble with her.I do like the comaro's though they are nice looking cars especialy the older modle's.

come on every one it is 2006 and until now they use very cheap materials for the interior and the safety rate are really bad compared to japanes cars or european cars, also their car's design are really ugly and the way they drive too. I will never ever buy their cars again!!!



I am not going to talk about the consumption of gas because it is not a big deal for me I am from Saudi Arabia.

Well I have never owned a chevy. But I do own a ford. I think fords would be better that chevys cos they are cheaper on gas and so reliable.
i drive a 97 f-150 and this truck have served me well, and yes aint no dought that ford makes better trucks and as in cars i will only trust crown vics, and mustangs, but i tell you this ive rather dirve a tornass (tarus) than intake leaking chevys!!
lets face it...both brands are pretty **** these days and their overseas branches (GM: Opel, Holden) (Ford in Europe, Australia, Mazda) do a hell better job of developing,building and selling cars. GM %26amp; Ford are the nations shame, and have left it too little too late to do anything about fixing issues they have and containing costs.



Lets look at the Ford Fusion. Start with a excellent car (Mazda6) add slab-slided body, poorly built interior, uninspiring engine and sloppy suspension and magic...america's newest sh*tbox. focusing on just SUV %26amp; Truck sales has hurt, while Honda %26amp; Toyota built excellent quality, RELIABLE and drivable, if boring passenger cars. What goes around comes around is all i can say.
