I need an expert on small chevys..I got no reasonable answers yet.?

When I turn the key it cranks but wont start. So I pulled a plug to check for spark while somebody else cranked and no spark. Then I light tested the connector to the coil.I have power going thru but no pulse signal when cranking. The guy that owns the car said you can start it by jump kicking it.So sure enough we rolled it down the hill, popped the clutch and starts right up and even runs good.No misfiring,no sputtering, no stalling nothing. So obviously the coil is getting its signal now. So why doesnt it get it when you turn the key. One thought I had was it could be the ignition itself not letting power to the coil but its only the signal im missing, the coil is getting power.Another thought I had was maybe some kind of sensor on the trans itself that produces a signal thats why itll only start by popping the clutch,,but wouldnt it die out as soon as I push the clutch back in or put the trans in neutral.Im kinda lost, this is a new one I never came across before. The starter is good the battery is strong.I really need some direction...95 chevy geometro LSI 1.3liter with standard trans.I need an expert on small chevys..I got no reasonable answers yet.?
is hei distobor , check wires on starter when turn key to crank losing volts to to coil . small wires on starter are wrong . st post an eng post . eng post gos to coil an st goes to coil to .on old points . eng used to run on 6 volts . to save points . st post put 12 volts to coil just for crank so start easer . let off key run on 6 volts so you have wires cross at starterI need an expert on small chevys..I got no reasonable answers yet.?
