chevy pickups...what's the main differences between the 1500hd and 2500hd?What's the difference between 1500hd and 2500hd chevys?
1500 is a half-ton rated truck, and the 2500 is a 3/4 ton rated truck.What's the difference between 1500hd and 2500hd chevys?
Generally, 1500 is a light duty truck (albeit heavier duty than a Colorado), 2500 is a bit more heavy duty (HD). The number is related mainly to the frame integrity with a payload/towing capacity, and suspension stiffness. Last I knew, the HD was only found on the 2500+ badged trucks. 2500hd has more power, better towing, bigger engine, worse gas mileage, bigger (physically) if you look closely, and it goes on. It's like an up graded, big brother if you will, of the 1500. Then there's the 3500...What's the difference between 1500hd and 2500hd chevys?
the 1500 will haul about a half ton of weight, the 2500, about 3/4 ton. The 2500 is usually geared lower for the extra weight, so mileage is usually less!

The numbers are related to the vehicle's payload and towing capacity...
