What does LS mean when it comes to chevys?

Penelope the LS on GM cars and trucks is a trim level nothing more.Im surprised by the number of posters that no very little about this subject.In the recent past they were only a set number of trim levels used on gm cars and trucks.These levels are Base,LS.LT and LTZ. These levels were used for over 20 years.GM has gone crazy for the last few years with its LT1.LT2 and LT3 levels of options.This is nothing more than stupid way of trying to get more money on buying a new car or truck.Best of luck.What does LS mean when it comes to chevys?

LS doesn't mean anything really, it doesn't mean "Luxury Sedan" like MrKnowItAll says(when in reality he doesn't know much).



The Camaro has a LS trim and last I checked it's not a sedan lol



These letters mean nothing, it's not like...say the GTA in the Trans Am GTA, the GTA actually MEANS something.



LS, LT, etc are nothing but options packages. What's next, the letters in ZO6 or ZR1 standing for something?
Could the "LS" on the Camaro and the "LS" on an impala mean two different things? Perhaps the Impala IS a "Luxury Sedan" %26amp; the Camaro is a "Luxury Sport"? In my opinion I would think that could be very possible.

well luxury sedan is typical lettering for most vehicles and some makes have ls for luxury sport in fact the cobalt is basically the sport model of the caviler so I guess you can draw your own conclusions on this answer
Indicates the trim level---it doesn't add to the performance. Any car can be good if YOU maintain it p[roperly according to the manual. USED???? Have a good mechanic check it top to bottom. Good luck.What does LS mean when it comes to chevys?
If anything at all, I'm pretty sure that "LS" means "Light Sport". I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure that, that is what it means.
