Not very American...and notice how every car shape looks practically the same until a big a++ed Hummer rolls by.



My head turns when a vintage American car comes around the corner, but I could care less what these new autos look like.



Buying vintage American cars means keeping them maintained by Americans with parts made in America.



Buying late models (did I say buying with intention of OWNING?).



No! I meant renting new autos gets you all kinds of integrated parts and stuff made in parts unknown and mirroring what most nations are beginning to look like...mish mosh.



If you believe nations are losing their uniqueness and identity, then you are seeing what globalization has done.



If we are to be unique individuals like it seems everyone wants to be, then shouldn't our autos be unique as well like they used to be?

Now, to answer your question as to why America doesn't push ahead and produce vehicles that don't rely on foreign oil?



Unfortunately, the planned vehicles won't be cost effective.

they are very american. the auto makers don't control where the fuel comes from...they just make the cars run on it. and if you're asking yourself "well why doesn't GM just start making everything hybrids?" ...because they can't afford to take a gamble right now and lose money, because of all the other anti-american hippys buying little hondas and other garbage. so next time you wonder why there aren't more hybrids, blame the japanese automakers. because GM has more technology than ANY car company out there...it just costs a lot of money to tap into it and use it. money that they don't have right now because the UAW seems to think that they have endless money. if they keep pulling this crap they won't have paychecks at all.
